James Spencer sent me these photos of the Unique model 26 R amplifier made by Laub Manufacturing of Mequon Wisconson. Upon 1st examination of the amp controls it has similar circuits used in the Magnatone Model 460. This Unique 26R has 2 channels each preamp'd with half a 12AX7. 4 inputs labeled A, B, C, D, along with a Dual input that drives both channels. Each channel has treble and bass controls labeled "More" or "Less" and a switch labeled BASS - NORM - TREB. A 6DR7 tube drives the reverb pan and a 6EU7 returns it. A Depth adjustment controls the reverb's output for all inputs. A and B inputs have the famous pitch-shifting vibrato
section with the usual pair of 6CG7/6FQ7 pitch-shifting tubes, intensity, and speed controls, similar to the Model 460. A 12AX7 is used for the phase inverter to drive a pair of 7868 power tubes. The 26R's output transformer has a 4-ohm secondary and drives 2 12-inch, 8-ohm speakers. There is a footswitch jack for the reverb/vibrato on/off and a preamp out jack labeled "Booster Amplifier".
Notice these came with metal corners and the cool white piping that is outlining the diamond patterned covering. I don't know much more about this amp. If you know about Laub Manufacturing, Mequon Wisconson or own one Email us and let us know.
