The model 421 has 3 inputs labeled High, Med, and Low. The 1st preamp section is a 6AV6 and half a 12AU7 tube for the volume and a tone controls. The 2nd half of the 12AU7 tube is used for the pitch-shifting vibrato. Half a 7025 for the low frequency oscillator. It is switchable from vibarto to tremolo. The other half of the 7025 is used for the phase inverted before going to a 6HU8/ELL80 twin Pentode power tube. Note: the printed schematic has a typo error. It reads 6UH8, it should read 6HU8 A push-pull output transformer drives the 10-inch 4-ohm speaker. Original list price was $129.95 including the footswitch.![]()

Here is another model 421. Notice this model has the silver control panel with black letters. Too bad someone destroyed the original cabinet and made it into a head. The transformer date code reads: 789-435. Owners of the model 421 say "The model 421 sounds nice and clear with lots of overtones when driven pretty hard. You can get full range of tones from it with plenty of low-end and clarity - it has a nice and pure tube warmth."
